Mac or Windows computer question (no fan boys please)?

I'm getting a laptop for college and I'm debating whether to get a Windows based PC or Apple Macintosh laptop (MacBook Pro). My friend is a high tech professional, going to study programming this fall at Akron University. He knows everything there is to know about computers. He, of course, is a Windows Fan Boy, but gives intelligent advice and says to go with a Hewlett Packard (HP) laptop. I have always liked the looks of Apple products and have been attracted by the new MacBook Pro 15". Can you please give intelligent advice on whether I should get an HP laptop or an Apple laptop, please? And please, no fan boy ranting.

for the age of the vehicle, check the pull up hose for the fuel pump in the tank. also check the fuel pump. if the fuel pumps are electric and are still from the factory, they would be 23 years old. they may need to be replaced. also if the tanks are steel, you could have some rust inside of the tank and the rust is clogging up the fuel pump or fuel pump line going to the engine. there also may be a bent in the line causing the engine to not get fuel.

Help! 3 of my horses have recently ped away for unkown reasons. What could it be?

My first horse, Joey, ped almost three months ago. He appeared to be in perfect health. He was up to date on vaccinations, teeth floated, worms, everything. He was very old though, almost 30, so we chalked it up to old age. Less than a week later my pony coliced. We raced her to the vet and luckily she was able to p a stone and returned to normal. Then a couple of weeks later she died unexpectedly for no apparent reason! We thought at the time it was maybe trauma from the colic or another bout of it? That left me with one pony who died this morning with no symptoms. She was 10 years old and was eating regularly and was in good health. Im so scared and frustrated. We never changed their food, pasture, or routine. What could have caused this to happen? Why would seemingly healthy horses die within months of each other?

Since today is Wednesday and you mention nothing more about the pain or vomiting you had on Saturday, then if it's gone you want to know if it's still there? The problem here is that if you had a stone blocking anything you would still have the pain and have been much worse by now anyway. I think maybe the ER doctor saw some shadow on the x-ray(which happens all the time) and used the blood test results to come to a conclusion. I'm not privy to any of the results, but can only tell you unfortunately things like this do happen. No one is perfect and remember that ER doctors are often overworked too. You can always get copies of any and all test results from the hospital if you want. They will make you a copy if you request one. Just call the hospital records number listed and tell them you want copies of the reports from the date you were in the ER. Then see if you can notice any discrepancy's or know someone that knows how to. For now, unless this starts again let it alone, get the copies for future reference and change doctors if you want. People change doctors that are on staff at the same hospital all the time. I'm not sure who told you no one else would see you, but this info was wrong and mean to say. I'm diabetic and i see double.?

Almost 4 months ago, i was in a diabetic coma for 2 weeks after developing pancreatitis. I had what the doctors call pre-diabetis but it was never a effect on my life until the pancreatitis. After getting out of the hospital, the doctors said my vision will be blurry for a while cause my blood sugar, while in the hospital was so high. But now, about a month ago...i went to the eye doctor to get a new prescription and they checked my eye's for retinopathy. They said i showed no sign of diabetes and everything looked good. I got a new prescription for contacts and gles. But now, as when i first got the contacts and cles. I see double. The doctors re-checked my eye's and she said she couldn't find anythign wrong with my eyes. But the double vision is there. The prescription is fine i can tell..but seeing double makes everything..."blurry". I did some reading and found it might be focal neuropathy. Can this be fixed with vitamins? if so which ones..or what else can i do?

I was told that i might have it by someone at a doctor's office over the phone. Last Thursday, I woke up, having had a terrible night's sleep with a stuffy nose and extreme fatigue. I felt like I was going to fall over. It took allot for me to get dressed. That day, I had to go to school for my schedule. I went with my dad, ate a yoghurt at Tim Horton's and drank some orange juice. After we had been waiting in line at school, I developed a severe headache. It felt like an elephant decided to sit on my head. So, I went home after and stayed in bed all day, and ate a candy. I also had a fever of 99.9 Fereinheit. The weird thing is though, the headache would only come back even worse if I got up after laying down or if I bent over. It would last for about 10 seconds and it was the worst feeling in the world. Then, if I walked, my head would feel fuzzy, so i'd go back to bed. Also, my throat hurt. The next day, I suffered the same thing and was forced to stay in bed all day because I was too weak to do anything else. My fever rose to 100.9. Friday, The headaches became on and off. I started lightly coughing. I still didn't have an apetite. Saturday, i felt a tiny bit better, except for for my fatigue was still there and I spent the entire day in bed again. Sunday, I got a fever again and napped, and spent the entire day in bed and laying down. Monday, I didn't have a fever but I spent the day in bed as well. That night, I had trouble sleeping because I started coughing allot. Tuesday, nothing new happend. Today, Wednesday, we called the doctor. I'm still in bed, I was coughing but I don't have a stuffy nose. I was a little hungrier today, but I'm still in bed.

Is my dog going to be okay?

For a Christmas gift for my friend I was covering a piece of very burnt toast with varnish. My mom was helping me with it, and we were working on it outside. She let my dog go outside, unsupervised, because she didn't think that my dog would eat it. Well i go out to check to see if it has dried any and found that the piece of toast was gone, therefore thinking that my dog might have eaten it. There are other possibilities like her just carrying it to another part of the yard and not eating it (it was dark out so we couldn't see) but that is probably unlikely. How dangerous is varnish for a dog? I''m not sure if any veterinarian offices in our area are open because of it being late and the holidays so I don't know if taking her there is an option. I'm scared and don't want my poor dog to get really sick before Christmas. By the way, she's 5, about 60 pounds, and a Golden Retriever if that helps any. Thanks.

You need to tell your parents. You also need to seek medical advice. There are medications that can help control somewhat of your thought process. Life will get better, and there is help. Weird feeling in face, tmj? stroke? tumor?

I am starting to think I am losing it. I am a 15/f. Well for several years, very sporadically, i would get this feeling on my face, (either side) that feels like someone is tightening a muscle in my cheek and won't let it go. Well this time I have had it for a week now (left side) and I am totally flipping out. It's not numb,no pain, I have no drooping, no slurred speech or blurry vision. It just feels like I am waiting for it to loosen and it doesn't. Every now and then I will feel very small spasms in it but nothing that noticable. I still have full function of my entire face, it's just this darn cheek that feels like it's tightened. I know it could very well be from stress/anxiety. I think I am going to die from it, and I also think I have had a stroke, but it is very distressing to have something that you have no idea what it is. Has anyone EVER had anything like this? I also thought maybe it could be TMJ. Or maybe just a pulled muscle...but in my CHEEK?? And when I bend over it's like I can feel pressure in that area of my cheek, like when youre on a roller coaster and the wind is pushing on your face, does that make any sense? I have posted this in 2 other forums, and they keep telling me to try different forums, this being one of them..lol...so I hope someone out there can help.Anyways, if anyone has some comforting words for this worrywart, please let me know!!

Would most of the Nuclear Waste get absorbed into the ground, or would it travel to the US and cause a big catastrophe? Wouldn't the Pacific Ocean current bring radiation to the west coast? 8 Weeks pregnant and a failure of getting off smoking?

im 20 years old and pregnant with my first baby. Ive smoked for 6 years and when i found out i was smoking i was smoking over a pack a day, Im now done to less than half a pack. It is very hard, and i feel the same way you do, i feel like a horrible mother and i feel guilty, but is so hard, I cant hardly stand myself sometimes, but i get cramps when i try to quit during withdrawls, it makes me nervous, i want to quit so bad but sometimes i feel like its impossible, people dont understand that do not smoke, but when smoking has been your stress relief for a long time, you dont know how to get away. I havent been to the dr yet, but i plan on talking about options with her. I just bought a new mic and it wont work. I have already checked and made sure its was not muted. In the device manager I went under show hidden devices and it shows a (!) in front of Logitech Mic (Communicate STX) and USB Audio Device. Worried about my schnauzer she's showing strange behavior?

Max is 15 1/2 yrs old and has been dx with spindle cell cancer. This is her second round of this cancer which was removed 2 yrs ago and it grew back in the same place. She has been well for close to a year since her recent dx in Oct 2009. In the past month she has been having problems where the vet has put her on famotidine,prednisone and tramadol. Last week she had a bad bacterial infection in her stomach, she wouldn't eat,drink and was vomiting, since then she has been put on antibiotics and anti diarrheal meds. She is now doing well in that respect but has been exhibiting strange behavior. I think she has dementia, it seems to affect her mainly at night. She wanders the house, or she'll just stare into space like she sees something I don't see. She has gotten more clingly to me too. Her breathing sounds bad but the vet took xrays three weeks ago and it showed clear lungs. Has anyone else ever had problems with their dogs with this strange change in behavior? Any comments would be appreciated and might help me. thanks

School suspention for child with disability?

I will try to make this short and to the point as best as I can. I have a 10 yr old son, who hasn't been able to run, jump, climb stairs, ride a bike, and has a gait disturbance, which I have taken him to numerous doctors for, they have ran every test in the book, and everything comes back normal, since the age of 2. he also has nervous tics,and adhd, and is not medicated. His doctor would also like him to be tested for bi-polar, since it is hereditary and his dad has it. The doctors dont want him medicated at this point, because of the unidentified neurological disorder and waiting for the bi-polar screening. Anyway, I got a phone call the other day from the school, saying that they are suspendeding him from school, for making noises in the cl. He has a clicking noise that he makes , especially when he is nervous or excited. he will even click in the middle of a sentence, in between words. I think this is horrible that they would punish him, for something that can not be controlled. Everyone is telling me to contact a lawyer about this. Any suggestions?

Any Para-Ord Warthog owners out there?

I don't own one (yet) but i have fired a few on my range. I really like the feel of them in the hand, i have large hands so a small frame pistol has never worked well for me, the Warthog is anything but a small frame, yet it's compact enough to conceal easily. I love the 3" barrel and 10 rounds, plus the features of any 1911. The sight radius is short obviously, and the rear high ramp sight takes some getting used to. For 7 yards it cuts one ragged hole in the target, shooting out to 25 yards it loses its consistancy, but still all 10 shots inside of 8 inches aint bad for a 3" barrel. It's HEAVY, that's the only drawback i have with it, if this is to be a carry gun, it will weigh a ton by the end of the day.

Take mine for example. Today, we rode on the road, and he acted all slow and kept swerving all over the place, no matter how hard I tried to keep him in a straight line. Then once we turned for home, he was all excited and fast- talk about barn sour. Then I worked him in the field, and he was all uneven at the trot and stuff. Once I cantered him, he was slow, and unwilling, and uneven and on the wrong lead, but once I turned him the way of home, he GALLOPED, and it was hard to get him under control, and I lost my irons millions of times. Two years ago my son now age 7 had lyme disease and prolonged use of antibiotics. Since then during winter he catches everything and anything that comes his way. I know about probiotics, he eats activia yogurt plus chewable acidopholis. I even make fresh orange juice with fresh oranges to avoid loss of nutrients from pasteurization. This child doesn't like poor quality foods like candy or junk foo, he'd eat a bowl of brocolli or spinach instead of a doughnut or cookie. We avoid refined carbs and sugars from sweets to bring his resistance down. Just fruit sugars he recieves and carbs like oatmeal or cheerios for bfast. He likes chicken broth and has that alot the moment the sniffle or sneeze starts. We also do echinacea tea and honey. He feels fine and acts great but still he is sick every other week with something else. He is never exposed to any smoke or household chemicals. He has no asthma or allergies. I am an extremist when it comes to good air quality in the house. Another new head cold with watery eyes and sneezes started today with a fever of 102 after a healthy week, two weeks ago he just got over pneumonia, he has had pink eye, and a few other colds. The Doctors say its the time of year and kids get everything at a young age like this but does anyone else think it means his immune system is still weak from lyme and the antibiotics? He never ever had any illness as a baby, maybe one cold if any or til about age 5 which is when he had the lyme disease so something happened about that time unless it really is as simple as school aged children? I don't think anyone else misses this much school though.

On the upper left portion of the yard I installed landscape fabric and 4 inch rock to solve the erosion problem. The landscape is essentially a clean slate, no gr,gets full sun. When I go to feed my daughter, she constantly turns her head from side to side and squirms around before she latches on and it sometimes causes her to latch on incorrectly, resulting in tremendous pain. My husband does not treat me equally with him?

My husband and I have a lot of things in common. In general we are a great couple and happy most of the time. However, my husband does not treat me equally with him, but more like he is more senior, on a higher position, or many times I feel he treats me like his daughter. (I am 36 and he is 39). I cried on the phone, and basically left nothing on the table, I just needed to let her know that she is my everything and that I am empty without her. She played it very strong, was firm, did not sound like she was tearing up or anything. She said that she would give it some thought. I told her that by me doing this ( crying and baring my soul to her), I want her to realize that I know what this means, that hopefully we get back together, and within a month I will ask her to marry me, after we discuss the future. I'm 35 yrs old & had an U/S today at 5 wks & 4 days because I had some brown spotting yesterday. I also had very mild discomfort on left abdomen, but it's not bad.Before I came in the doc said on the phone that she wanted to try to rule out an eptopic pregnancy. During the ultrasound, she didn't say it was normal, nor did she say it was necessarily abnormal. She tried to find the eptopic pregancy, but didn't see anything. She took some blood to check HGC levels and I have to go back in 2 days to give more blood for a comparison. She said if the HGC levels are dropping, then that is a bad sign. I asked if the sack looked normal this time because I saw more in the sack on the U/S than the last pregnancy that didn't work out because I had an anembryonic pregancy that time. She didn't really answer & said sac could be a pseudo sack. Yikes, scary! Question, should I have a white "cheerio" in sac as I didn't see that. Just saw a white little blob in right side of sack. I'm very scared!

I have a virus on my USB drive, that is called RECYCLER. Now, it simply lurks in there an runs through autorun.inf, which on every computer I plug it into it affects. I looked into the .inf file, and found the .exe in a hidden file on my USB drive. If I try to delete anything, they'll just come back. All I did was I edited the .exe file to complete gibberish; now ever time I plug in my USB drive I get a "fatal error" due to the application. Well, I fixed it, but I would like a way to remove it.

I liked the simple one and the purple designer one (the second one). But for school, I think, personally, I'd go for the simple one. I wouldn't want to dirty the designer one in school. But for weekends I'd go for the designer one. Or if you want, you should just see which one would look good with your outfits. That's what I do. If it doesn't match my clothes, then I don't use it.

The weather should be nice this weekend with temp. around 67-75. The wedding will be outside. My husband is actually in the wedding. From my experience, I've found that when you are truly in love with the person you are with, you treat them differently. I was married before & I bossed him around like he was my child. I'm not proud of it, but he took it so I did it. When I met my current husband, he was very independent and made me want to be good to him. Sounds kinda mean but its true. I think once you find your true soul mate then you won't want to treat him that way. So you'll think about your words & actions more carefully... hope this helps. ;)

To e-cig users..I haven't had a cigarette in 8 months but...?

I want one every day. Every day for the past 8 months! This is the 4th time I've quit, I quit for 10 months last time and started smoking again for a few months then I quit again and its been 8 months this time. So...I ordered Blu Electronic cigarettes with NO nicotine...I dont really know anyone who uses electronic cigs but Ive read reviews and they seem good. I thought that maybe if I could have something that seemed like a cig and even had the smoke (its water vapor) and flavored like a cig it would reduce the urge to smoke a real one for me. I got nicotine free electronic cigs because I dont want to get hooked on the nicotine again. Has anyone tried these and do you think they would help me? I think I might relapse soon if I dont do this...I loved smoking! just not the smell and health problems that come with it! So...if anyone could help me out on this that'd be great.
