Is it true what the rappers say? "If you come down south, y'all better stay strapped"?

Rap music and real life are too separate things entirely. Obviously the rappers want to sound tough and represent for their hoods down south. 95% of these rappers are just actors. In reality places like Washington DC where guns are banned have the most violence. Washington DC has the highest murder rate in the country. Criminals love places like that because then they are the only ones with the guns and all of the innocent are just unarmed victims.
