My ford explorer is sputtering (5.0l v8) could it be bad gas?

It started after i put in a full tank of gas from my normal gas station, i drove home, and then the next morning it ran like crap, sputtering and jerking, we added premium fuel and i added dry gas to it, and it seems to have helped a slight bit, although i haven't run it much...the CEL has been knocked on and i really dont want to have it checked if its bad gas...anyone have any experiences with this? how long should it take to go through the car?
